ENTRY REQUIREMENT: THIS IS A NON-JURIED EXHIBITION AND SALE. GSWS Full and Associate Members in good standing can enter ONE piece of original artwork. Any non-member living in NJ may also enter by becoming a member of GSWS.

AWARDS JUROR: Gail Bracegirdle 

Gail is a faculty member of Artworks Visual Art School in Trenton.  She is also a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society.

ELIGIBLE WORK:

  • Artwork must be water-based media. Any combination of watercolor, tempera, poster paint, egg tempera, gouache, opaque watercolor, acrylic, casein, inks, gesso, watercolor pencils, and crayons
  • Work must be suitability matted with clean white or off- white outer mats. A narrow inner color mat is permitted
  • Artwork must be suitability framed and wired for hanging. No saw tooth or clips will accepted
  • Artwork may not exceed 50 inches (outside dimensions) including frame. Minimum size accepted is 16 X 16 inches framed
  • Artwork exceeding 30 inches in any direction must be presented under Plexiglas
  • GSWS will not be responsible for frames or glass broken due to improper framing
  • No painting may be removed for any reason before April 18th at the designated time
  • Artwork not picked up at the designated time and location will be stored by GSWS at a $5.00 per day fee payable to GSWS

 

INELIGIBLE WORK:

  • Newspaper, photographs, magazine or computer generated art, pastel, prints, water-soluble oils, and nude subject matter will not be accepted
  • Work previously exhibited at any GSWS show or Prallsville Mills will not be accepted
  • Poorly matted or framed work will not be accepted

 

SALES:  All artwork must be priced or marked NFS (not for sale).  In the event of a sale, GSWS requires a 25% donation from artist.  Artists are responsible for taxes of their sold work.

 Liability and Insurance:  All artwork will be handled with the utmost care and professionalism but neither DRMS nor GSWS assumes responsibility for loss or damage of any artwork.

 Photography:  Entry and acceptance of artwork constitutes permission for the Garden State Watercolor Society and the DRMS to use photographs of the artwork for publicity and promotional purposes.

 

Gallery Hours:  Thursday through Sunday 12:00- 4:00 PM

 

Volunteer Attendants Needed to Gallery Sit

Volunteers may bring their artwork (prints, matted work, note cards) to sell during the time they gallery sit - NO COMISSION!

DIRECTIONS TO PRALLSVILLE MILLS

95 SOUTH: Take Lambertville / Trenton Exit (last exit in NJ). Follow signs to the right for Lambertville- Route 29 North. Continue on Rt. 29, you will come to the small town of Stockton - you will pass the Stockton Inn on your right -the Prallsville Mill is on Rt. 29 approximately a mile or so past the Stockton Inn.

78 WEST TO I 287 SOUTH: Follow signs for Somerville, exit on to Route 202 South towards Flemington. At the Flemington Circle continue around the circle and follow signs for 202 south to Lambertville. Watch for the Lambertville / Stockton Exit. This will bring you to Rte 29. Make a right- take Rt 29 North approximately 2. ½ miles to the town of Stockton. You will pass the Stockton Inn on your right. Prallsville Mill is approximately a mile or so past the Stockton Inn.
