What's New? Save The Dates – St. Michael's Paint Out June 5th and 6th Hopewell, NJ D&R Greenway Land Trust is sponsoring a “Paint-Out” at the 340-acre St. Michael’s Preserve in Hopewell on June 5th and 6th. We welcome photographers to join painters in revealing this extraordinary landscape of rolling hills, close-up features of farm usage, wildflowers, birds in all seasons, and long views of the Sourland Mountains beyond the historic steepled village. Children are invited to create pastel landscapes with Heather Barros on Sunday, June 6th from 12:30-2:00.
Please save the date and RSVP to D&R Greenway at (609)924-4646 by May 21st, with e-mail contact information. Upon registration, we will send you detailed instructions for the event. This Paint-Out will produce art works in all media, which, at the artist’s discretion, may be exhibited and sold on June 12 during the St. Michael’s Preservation Celebration on the newly preserved property. (Rain date, June 13.) The artist or photographer will determine the sale price for their work. As is the custom for exhibits at the Marie Matthews Gallery at the Johnson Education Center, D&R Greenway will retain 35% commission on sales to support our land preservation and stewardship mission. As this event has no entry fee, artists and photographers will provide for personal needs, including lunch and snacks, sufficient water for the day, necessary equipment, tools and materials. Anti-tick garb is essential in this state – long sleeves, long pants tucked into socks, closed shoes, hat, insect repellant, as well as sunscreen. Portable sanitary facilities will available on the property.
